SPICED GOURMET ATOLE

Ingredients
- After the Rosca de Reyes, your body craves something comforting. ✨ Celebrate Three Kings Day with this gourmet atole, creamy and with an aroma that evokes the magic of the season. The touch of TERANA Whole Nutmeg and TERANA Ground Cinnamon makes it unforgettable. Warmth and flavor in every sip!
- 4 cups of almond milk (or your preferred milk)
- 1/2 cup of masa harina (or 2 tablespoons cornstarch)
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar or grated piloncillo (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon of TERANA Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of TERANA Whole Nutmeg (freshly grated)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon of vanilla
Directions
1. In a cup, dissolve the corn masa (or cornstarch) in half a cup of the almond milk until smooth. Set aside.
2. Pour the remaining almond milk into a saucepan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, TERANA Ground Cinnamon, and vanilla, if using. Heat until the sugar dissolves, without letting it boil.
3. Slowly pour the dissolved masa mixture into the saucepan, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
4. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until the atole has thickened to your liking.
5. Serve hot in cups. Just before serving, grate the TERANA Whole Nutmeg over the surface to release its aroma.
TERANA Tip: Grating the TERANA Whole Nutmeg just before serving maximizes its flavor. Remember that a little of this spice is enough for an exquisite aroma. What do you enjoy with your atole on Three Kings Day morning? 🥛
