PEARS IN SPICED WINE

Ingredients

    🍐🍷 A sophisticated dessert with minimal effort.
    TERANA spices transform simple pears into a gourmet experience, ready in 30 minutes.

    4 firm, peeled pears (you can leave the stem on)
    12 oz. of red wine
    2 tablespoons of brown sugar
    1 cinnamon stick
    1 star anise
    ½ teaspoon of TERANA Ground Cloves
    ½ teaspoon of TERANA Nutmeg
    1 teaspoon of TERANA Ground Ginger
    Water (if needed)

Directions:

1. In a medium-sized saucepan, mix the red wine, brown sugar, cinnamon stick, star anise, TERANA Ground Cloves, TERANA Nutmeg, and TERANA Ground Ginger.
2. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat.
3. Add the pears and cook over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, turning them occasionally to absorb the liquid. If the wine loses too much, you can add a little water.
4. Carefully remove the pears and let the sauce continue to reduce slightly to thicken.
5. Serve the pears tossed in the spiced sauce.
