GINGERBREAD COOKIES

Ingredients
- If there's one scent that defines the season, it's ginger and cinnamon. We'll show you how to make the crispiest and most delicious cookies for this holiday season, using the quality of TERANA. It's easier than you think!
- 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of TERANA Ground Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of TERANA Ground Ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon of TERANA Ground Cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1 large egg
1/2 cup of molasses (or piloncillo syrup)
Directions:
1. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, sift and mix the flour, baking soda, salt, TERANA Ground Cinnamon, TERANA Ground Ginger, and TERANA Ground Cloves. Set aside.
2. Cream the wet ingredients: In another bowl, beat the softened butter with the brown sugar until creamy. Add the egg and molasses.
3. The dough: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, beating on low speed until a smooth, even dough forms.
4. Chill: Divide the dough into two discs, wrap them in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 3 hours (or overnight). This step is key!
5. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface (approximately 5 mm thick). Cut out shapes using your favorite holiday cookie cutters. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are firm.
6. The Finishing Touch: Let the cookies cool and decorate with icing or powdered sugar.
