CINNAMON ROLLS

Ingredients

    🥮😋 Nothing beats the aroma of freshly baked cinnamon. To celebrate this day, enhance the flavor of your cinnamon rolls with our sweeter and more aromatic TERANA Ground Cinnamon.

    For the dough:
    - 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
    - 1/2 cup of warm milk
    - 1/4 cup of sugar
    - 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, melted
    - 1 large egg
    - 1 1/2 teaspoons of active dry yeast
    - 1/2 teaspoon of salt

    For the filling:
    - 1/2 cup of brown sugar
    - 2 tablespoons of TERANA Ground Cinnamon
    - 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, at room temperature

    For the glaze:
    - 1 cup of powdered sugar
    - 2-3 tablespoons of milk or cream
    - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    - A pinch of TERANA Ground Cinnamon

Directions:

1. In a small bowl, mix the warm milk, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and the yeast. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes, until the surface foams.
2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, the remaining sugar, and the salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix with a wooden spoon or with your hands until a dough forms.
3. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. If you have a mixer with a dough hook, use it for 5 minutes at medium speed.
4. Form the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
5. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and TERANA Ground Cinnamon.
6. Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle of approximately 30x40 cm (12x16 inches). Spread the softened butter over the entire surface of the dough, leaving a small unbuttered edge. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the butter.
7. Carefully roll the dough tightly along the longest side to form a log. Use a sharp knife or dental floss to cut the roll into 12 equal portions.
8. Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one. Cover with a cloth and let rise again for 30-40 minutes.
9. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake the cinnamon rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the center is set.
10. While the rolls cool slightly, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth. If desired, add a pinch of TERANA Ground Cinnamon for an extra touch of flavor.
11. Pour the glaze over the warm rolls. Enjoy this freshly baked treat immediately!
